Where is the Best Place to Teach Overseas?

Where is the best place to teach overseas? It is hard to decide where to go when you look at the scope of unique and exciting experiences that are available in the different regions around the world. This article is designed to give you information regarding the way your decision about where to teach overseas can affect your lifestyle while you are teaching abroad.

Leisure Activities

Choosing the best place to teach overseas may be tied up in the kinds of things you like to do outside of work. You can continue many of your favorite leisure activities while you teach overseas, or take up new ones. Many international teachers move to regions that allow them to indulge themselves in this way.

If you ski, then Europe and Korea are options you may consider. You can teach in Vienna for example and take a train to the slopes for the weekend.

Divers tend to look for international schools in Thailand or the Philippines. Thailand currently has many more international schools than the Philippines, so you are more likely to find a teaching job there.

Because most international schools are situated in urban or suburban areas, there is usually a wealth of activities you can take part in. While living in Bangkok I have attended Indian musical evenings organized by the Indian Embassy, attended numerous balls, learnt how to ride a horse and taken numerous dancing lessons in many different styles. My colleagues are more adventurous than I, they run in marathons, compete in triathlons, mountain bike, dive, play golf, and the list goes on.

To find out if you will be able to continue your hobbies in different countries you can search on the internet or check out the 'activities' section of the relevant Lonely Planet Guide.

Making Friends

At home you probably have many friends outside of work, this can be difficult to achieve when working at an international school, especially if you frequently move around to different schools.

One key ingredient to making friends with local people can be how much effort you are willing to put into overcoming the language barrier. Learning the local language will also help smooth your life in your host country.

To avoid this issue you can choose to work at an international school in a country where the majority of the population speaks English! In many countries in Western Europe, for example, a large proportion of the population speaks English fluently, so the language barrier is practically nonexistent.

To make friends who are expatriates but not teachers you can join groups like the Hash House Harriers (who organize group runs) and national groups like the New Zealand Society.

Domestic Help

Teachers with children that are looking to teach in a country with a lower cost of living than at home will discover that the lower cost of living also carries across into the cost of child care too, particularly in-home child care.

When you teach abroad you can choose to live and work in a country where you will be able to afford a nanny. Many international teachers with children employ nannies, especially in South East Asia where the cost of living is very low, and as a consequence, local salaries are low too.

Even teachers without children can enjoy the benefits of domestic help in countries where domestic helpers are relatively cheap to employ. Nearly all of my colleagues have maids or cleaners who come in and take care of everything from cleaning the apartment to doing the food shopping and collecting dry cleaning.

Finally

There are many different factors to consider when you are deciding where the best place to teach overseas is for you. But the main thing to keep in mind is that while you may have a wish list of where you want to go and what you want to be able to do once you get there - it may not work out the way you planned.

For example, there may be no teaching vacancies in your specialty in the country of your choice in the year in which you are applying. Or, there may be schools very interested in employing you but not in the region you were hoping for.

The key to being happy and fulfilled when you are teaching abroad is flexibility and a commitment to making it work for you. It is not going to be just like home, you will face challenges, and that is the best part of teaching overseas, no matter where you decide to go!

Ways to Make Money - Your Step-by-Step Guide

Are you thinking of ways to make money? Are you planning to do something for extra income? Most people would say yes to these questions. The fact is, everyone wants to make more money. The question that comes next is how. You have probably come up with some great money-making ideas and tried some of them. In this article, we will talk about the different considerations when planning to enter into a money-making scheme.

1. Have a clear plan of action

Many people stop at planning to make money. Yes, most would definitely want to be more financially stable, but not everyone really acts on it. It is important for you to have a clear plan and how that plan will be achieved. First, determine how much is your goal? Will it be your primary source of income? Or is it just to augment your finances? Next, determine how much time you are willing to set aside? Will it be a full-time job or just a few hours a day/week? Third, decide when you plan to start. Will it be a big business venture and need a month to prepare? Or would you rather start small and immediately?

2. Know your strengths and interests

Knowing the areas of your strengths helps determine the kind of money-making scheme you would be choosing. To be able to know about ways to make money, useful questions to ask are: What am I good at? For example, those good at writing can take on freelance writing work; those good with children may do a bit of babysitting that can pull over some bucks. Do not think that there is nothing that you are good at. Even if you are good at a certain sports or hobby, you can list that down and include them in your options.

3. Do your research

Increase your ideas about ways to make money by being resourceful and creative. You can search the internet for more earning opportunities, ask friends and family about the common services needed around, read community newsletters and bulletin boards for vacancy announcements, part time work, etc.

4. Dream bigger

One of the weaknesses of most people who want to earn more is that once they get to start earning, they simply stop at that. If, for example, you already have a source of income or have succeeded in making a significant increase in the family income, keep your mind and creativity going! Continue what you are doing but think of more possibilities to widen your business scope. For example, you may already be working as a freelance artist, why not think of advertising more or publishing some samples of your wok to get more clients? Remember, with money-making, the possibilities are endless!

5. Save a chunk of what you earn

Once you have an additional source for those extra bucks, always make sure that a big percentage is placed in savings. Why? Because savings can keep you padded for a longer time and may also be a source of capital for other business ventures. Ways to make money is not limited to what you have achieved now, more things are to come!

With all these tips, there is no way of stopping you from taking that financial leap to success. Keep them by heart and always look ahead for the realization of bigger financial dreams!

You can start making money online now with mini-reports or informational products that sell like hot cakes and make money for you day in and day out, even while you sleep!

Dream Jobs in UEFA - Where to Start Looking

[Football means soccer (in this article)!]

Today football is the number one sport in the world. Not only it is played professionally around the world, but also millions of people go to football events or championships to support their favorite football teams. At the same time billions more people in the world follow this sport on television, starting from regular watching of local matches and ending with following of such mass football events as continental championships (e.g. Champions League, Euro Cup, or Copa Santander Libertadores) or the FIFA World Cup. Many people also love to play this fantastic sport at an amateur level, which is true according to the FIFA conducted survey in year 2001 which showed that over 240 million from more than 200 countries regularly play football!

Such a fantastic sport as football is not only offering mass entertainment or physical development for its fans, but also a variety of fantastic "dream jobs" and placements which are available for anyone who loves football and is qualified in their profession. It is not a secret that Union of European Football Associations, or simply UEFA, is one of the most respected and well-known football organizations in the world. It is a large organization which administers and controls all of the European football and therefore demands specialists of different kinds to carry out these complex duties. On a constant basis this sport organization is searching for new recruits in order to be more innovative, creative, and professional. Union of European Football Associations is a multicultural (mainly European) environment which currently has 250 employees of 25 different nationalities, and always seeks to sustain this environment in combination with the individual work methods of its employees', in order to reach outstanding results. The organization claims that their goal in recruiting new employees is the following:

"UEFA is committed to providing its staff with an environment in which they can flourish. We look for people with energy and commitment and give them the tools they need to fulfill ambitious goals, whilst striving to attain the highest standards of professional excellence and integrity."

The Union of European Football Associations itself is looking for employees who have language skills, professional expertise in specific areas, are flexible, and who are open for self-development. They also believe that their potential employees should be committed and ready to serve football with high standards of professionalism according to the following competencies: team spirit and cooperation with colleagues, client-orientation, expertise at work, and leadership qualities.

Such a superb method of treating its employees and respecting their talents or ideas makes this organization a real "dream organization" where authentic football fans and simply professionals in areas of their expertise can find desired "dream jobs". For example, now the Union of European Football Associations is offering a vacancy for a "Professional Football Specialist" position (link for the vacancy below), which might be a great opportunity for anyone wanting to get a job in sports marketing related to football. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to deal with: professional football stakeholder group/family (e.g. clubs, leagues, or players), improving public relations, organizing events, marketing projects relevant to professional football in Europe, and marketing research.

But marketing is not the only professional field where this modern organization offers exciting jobs: it also offers jobs in media, administration departments, logistics departments, or assistance jobs of different kinds. All of these can be real "dream jobs" for true football lovers and professionals that are willing to work at such a "dream organization" as the UEFA.

Teaching Overseas - Are You The Right Person For The Job

It might be tempting to skip over this article, sure you are indeed the right person for the job, however, there is key information included in this article which will help determine your employability, your motivation for beginning this quest and your preferences for what kind of position you'd like.

Single or married with dependents?

Teaching couples are the most sought after commodity in international schools because they are the most cost efficient to hire. They are hired together and require only one living allowance.

Singles would come next, and are especially attractive if they are willing to share housing. Also, some schools will only hire single people. Towards the beginning of the new academic year, when schools are becoming desperate to fill their remaining vacancies, single teachers become even more attractive because they are usually very mobile, in that they have no dependents to make arrangements for.

Couples with children would head up the bottom of the list. One or two children are not an unattractive prospect for most schools, but you might find that you will not get extra benefits for having more than two children. Some people I have worked with that have three children have reported that they have had to pay tuition fees for their third child.

Teaching couples

Teaching couples and teachers with dependent spouses and/ or children should apply early on in the process when there is more flexibility. If you are intending to find positions as a teaching couple, you are not likely to be very successful to attend job fairs towards the end of the season.

It is often the case that one member of a teaching couple will find the perfect job, whilst the other member may have to make do with an acceptable or part time post.

Single teachers

Single teachers are able to find positions through to the beginning of the new academic year because they can fill school's unfilled or unexpected vacancies easily.

Age (at both ends of the scale)

Age might be an issue in some countries because of visa requirements, but usually more mature people are attractive to international schools because they are believed to be stable.

On the other hand, many schools operate a salary scale that makes less experienced (which frequently means younger) teacher financially attractive to schools.

If you are used to being on the top of the pay scale, you might want to ask if the salary step you start on is capped. I have heard that some schools require all new teachers to the school to start on the same salary step, regardless of years of experience.

Qualifications and experience

Some sources of information on teaching in international schools state that you have to have a degree in education, a license to teach and two years experience. This is not true at all. You will need some kind of qualification OR experience, but there are opportunities for almost everyone.

If you don't have two years experience, then you will need to pay close attention to the sections on finding a job through job advertisements. You will probably not be invited to attend a job fair, as two years experience is one of their selection criteria for candidates. This doesn't mean you are an unattractive candidate for schools, just that you aren't necessarily going to get a job through a job fair.

If you have a Bachelors' degree and a TEFL qualification you will be able to teach in an ESL position in most schools. The nature of your Bachelors' degree is usually inconsequential; many countries expect this basic level of education to qualify for a working visa. My first teaching job was in a private language school in Taiwan when the only qualifications I had were a Bachelors' degree in business and a TEFL certificate that the ink was still wet on.

If you have no teaching qualification at all, and no experience in teaching children, you will need to look at the section titled 'What employment opportunities are there for my non-teaching partner?', look into getting a TEFL certificate or one of the many non-government organisations that sponsor or offer internships in teaching in different countries.

If you do not qualify for your dream job now, do not give up in defeat. There are many opportunities to increase your qualifications both by going back to university full- or part-time, or distance learning online. Use this book to help you discover what qualifications you need to get your dream job, and go get them.

Your situation does not need to stay stagnant, there are always options to try. If you absolutely must get overseas now, then you should seriously consider TEFL as you can get a qualification to teach TEFL in 2-4 weeks full time study. Again, with TEFL qualifications there are distance and part-time options available.

Easy-going, flexible and adaptable people

Recruiters are looking for people who will cope well with the move, living in a new culture and fit in seamlessly to existing staffing situations.

Here are a few personal qualities that recruiters are looking for in candidates:

* Good sense of humour

* Easy-going

* Flexible

* Adaptable

* A good team player

* Positive outlook

* Can do anything attitude

* An optimist

Recruiters are only going to employ people who they judge to be able to thrive in challenging environments and in the midst of culture shock. It's fine to suffer from culture shock, but you must be able to function in your job whilst going through the shock of moving countries.

There is a reason that recruiters are looking for these qualities in applicants. They are needed! It's tough enough learning your way around a new city in your own home country, now imagine going through that learning process in a different country where you don't speak the language and can't read any of the signs.

If this sounds awful to you, rather than an exciting opportunity, then you probably aren't the right person for a position at an international school. There are lots of opportunities for you to work in a country more in line with what you're used to. I started out moving from the NZ education system to living in the UK and working in the UK education system. Check out the resources and links I've put on my website about finding a position in NZ or Australia.

This is a better option to maybe work your way up to working in a really foreign environment. Don't try and be what you aren't when applying for positions with international schools.

Your children's education

If you have children you will need to consider how they will adapt to the new situation.

If they are going into Year 11 (Grade 10), it is not advisable for them to enter either the IB MYP or the IGCSE system because both of these programs finish a program at the end of this year. The IGCSE exam is the culmination of two years work, and the IB MYP will only offer certificates to students who have completed two years in the program and studied all 8 subject areas.

Students are able to sit IGCSE exams without being in school for the full two years, but they will need to complete extra study in order to make up for missing the first year of the course.

Students who do not complete two years in the MYP program will receive a Record of Achievement for their final year.

For your older children, the last two years of high school in a British curriculum school or an IB Diploma school also comprise of a two year course. You will need to investigate the possibilities for your particular circumstances once you have identified schools you would like to apply for. Remember that you can ask questions as a prospective parent before you even apply for a position.

Understanding your goals

It is important to understand what you are trying to achieve by making this change in your life. This will help you to focus your job search on securing the position that will enable you to meet your goals.

Consider whether

* you are looking for new challenges personally or professionally

* you are looking to make financial gains or take a pay cut in order to give something of yourself to developing communities

* you want to develop new relationships

* you are looking to fund your move to another country in order to adopt a child

* you want to fund personal or professional research

* you are curious as to what it would be like to live and work overseas

All of these goals are perfectly valid and you probably consider that more than one of them applies to you. Or your goals may not be on this list. Whatever your goals, you must be aware of them and keep them in the back of your mind throughout the process that follows.

You might have more self development goals in mind, and working in an international school is a fantastic boost to your self esteem. I know I am an attractive employment prospect, simply because of the many experiences I have had and my proven adaptability.

How To Stop Searching For A Job - Get Recruiters And Companies Directly Knocking On Your Door

Finding your dream job can be a difficult task indeed with so much competition for places, you need to stand out from the crowd and be different in your approach so as to secure the key position and company you desire. You should find the information in the next few paragraphs useful as it shows you how you can adopt the lazyman's approach, after all life is stressful enough without the burden of searching for your next job.

It always amazes me the amount of times that people send in their resumes or CV for a position advertised on the internet or in the newspapers that they are not quite qualified or experienced. The approach by these candidates is one of the scatter-gun method hoping that somehow it sticks and dreaming you get called up for an interview anyway. But how can this be? You will find if you adopt this style that you get less contact from professional recruiters who have little time to scan through all your details as they are constantly looking for relevance for their immediate vacancies. Time is important to all concerned and companies are unlikely to contact you if your CV is not relevant. You may however get a call in the end, but can your stomach wait or go 24 hours or more without any food or water? My guess is no, you want immediate results and contact from the employers asap, therefore, you must realise 1st impressions count. Your CV must stand out in terms of its design format, layout and most importantly its relevance to the job advertised.

Secondly, if you would like to have recruiters, headhunters and companies calling you directly then you must make yourself visible to the outside world. What i mean by this is that you need to be online, on the internet where professional recruiters seek for suitable candidates. The obvious medium online are jobboards which are increasing by the day, it seems almost each day there is a new website that is launched specific to a niche industry profession where prospective candidates can post their details. These are places where headhunters, recruiters and companies all look for candidates at some point, so it does you no harm, even if you are not looking at that time, after all the final say is yours whether you wish to move into a new job.

Another way of increasing your chances of being headhunted or contacted by a potential employer direct is making sure you are prominent in your field online as well as offline. You must have heard of this saying before that the best form of marketing is through 'word of mouth'. So if you have written articles make sure you have these published online, you can also join special interest groups or associations which are relevant to your field. For instance if you are an electrical engineer in the UK you want to make sure you are affiliated to the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE), every profession has an association which has been setup for likeminded people to learn and discover new information about their field. This is all networking and today's world is about networking successfully.

This leads us into the next way of giving yourself visibility to employers and recruiters searching for candidates to fill their vacancies. Online networking or Social networking as it is commonly known today is catching on like wild fire, you only have to look at some of the biggest innovations or movements in the internet world over the last 2 to 10 years, the likes of Linkedin.com, Openbc.com, Facebook, Myspace are all fantastic ways of reaching people within and outside of your immediate environment, creating an amazing abundance of opportunity. Linkedin, a US networking site, with more than 7 million people's profile worldwide present on its database is perhaps one of the best, mainly dedicated to professional people, it forms an excellent forum for placing your details, finding work and having people contact you direct for work by some of the biggest and most successful companies in the world. I have heard of many stories where people got hired for great jobs through these networking sites, and in one particular case, the candidate was catapulted above those that had applied through the normal medium, i.e. responding to a job advert in the newspaper. The reason briefly was this candidate had a very good profile on the internet, one that came with written testimonies all visible online. So making yourself visible online is key to your success.

Online networking or Social networking is one of the biggest events to hit the online community in recent years and its impact is one which is likely to last for decades as it appears to be the future for doing business and communicating with people online. It is often said that 'success is not about what you know, but who you know', and online networking allows you to expand your 'who you know' part, creating a level playing field, as a result enabling you to leverage other people's network and thus securing you potentially a dream contact that leads to your dream job.

Getting a Debt Recovery Job

If you are currently looking for a new job and are considering vacancies in a law firm within a Debt Recovery Legal Team, this article is designed to give you an insight into the day to life of a Debt Recovery Lawyer and the duties of a Debt Recovery job.

A Debt Recovery job is a good career choice for those individuals who enjoy a structure and procedure to follow.

Depending on the value of the claim, as a general rule of thumb, cases will be dealt with in the County Court via the Small Track, Fast Track or Multi Track. Each track has a different structure.

With the Small Claims track this is aimed at individuals or small companies dealing with claims themselves, therefore this is a fairly informal procedure with few deadlines to comply with.

In the Fast Track there are more deadlines to comply to with regards to disclosure of documentation/evidence and allocation.

The Multi-Track is for high value and generally more complex issues with again strict deadlines and procedures to follow.

As an example, I will run through a general Small Claim in the County Court.

Initially, the client, whether an individual, Partnership or a Limited Company, Limited Liability Partnership or a PLC will approach a Solicitors firm and instruct a member of a specialist Debt Recovery Legal Team to deal with the dispute on their behalf, this could be for example regarding an unpaid invoice.

To distinguish, an individual or partnership who are being sued are personally liable for any Judgment against them whereas a Limited Company, LLP or PLC are a separate legal entity in itself, in other words, as a general rule of thumb, the Directors or Members are not directly liable (and in the case of a LLP are only liable for a sum agreed between the partners at the outset of the agreement). There are cases where Director/Members can be liable but that is complex and so I will not talk further about this.

Upon instruction the Lawyer dealing with the case will send a Letter Before Action to inform the Respondent of the potential claim and to demand payment say within 7 days of the date of the letter. This letter will outline, the sum due together with any interest or costs to be added.

If payment is not then received, a Claim Form is issued in the County Court together with a copy of the unpaid invoice. This is then acknowledged by the Court and the Respondent is sent a copy, together with a Response Pack outlining a fixed period to respond to the Claim with their Defence.

Assuming that the case then proceeds, each party may wish to disclose further documentation to each other.

In any event, a Hearing then takes place at which Judgement may be given either payable immediately or by a certain date.

If payment is then not forthcoming, you may look at Enforcement Options. This may include instructing a Bailiff in the County Court, or a Sheriff or applying for an Attachment of Earnings. If you know that a sum is due to the Respondent from another party, you may make an Interim Third Party Debt Order application - this could be freezing their bank account or applying for an order that other money due to the Respondent is paid to the Claimant. There are other options to include registering a charge against the property so that payment is made when the house is sold or if for a large amount of money you may make an Application for Sale. You may also request the Debtor to attend an Oral Examination where they will have to answer to the Court under Oath details about their financial situation and assets etc. There are various options available and you will assess which Debt Recovery Enforcement option you wish to take when you know more about the Debtor.

In cases where the sum due is over a certain amount (specified by law), you also have the option of presenting a Bankruptcy Petition (in the case of an individual or partnership) or a Winding Up petition/Insolvency (in the case of a Limited Company, Limited Liability Partnership or PLC). This is much more complex but with the market in its present condition and the recent credit crunch, I predict that Bankruptcy and Insolvency will increase substantially.

You can choose to apply for voluntary Bankruptcy or Winding Up/Insolvency. Many individuals who have serious debt will choose to apply for Bankruptcy. This therefore in essence "wipes the slate clean" with regards to your debt and at some point in the future (sometimes as little as a year) the Bankruptcy status will be discharged. If individuals are still earning, the chances are they may have to make a small payment each month to their Debtors. However the amount is generally minimal.

Debt Recovery jobs, as well as Bankruptcy and Insolvency work can be demanding and interesting work. Structure is apparent which is good for individuals looking for jobs in this area of law, sometimes as a starting point before moving on to more complex Civil or Commercial Litigation matters. Alternatively, there are some very successful Debt Recovery Solicitors who chose to do a Debt Recovery job alone because it offers both the structure and the excitement of Court Proceedings and attending Court to perform Advocacy.

So therefore, if you are looking for a legal Debt Recovery job as a Solicitor/Legal Executive/Trainee Legal Executive/Paralegal or Legal Assistant I hope you have found this article to be of some assistance to you in your decision making process as to your future career in law.

Travel Writer Jobs, What Are They And How To Find Them

Travel writing jobs are few and far between. Getting into this field is hard to do and requires a lot of training and experience. But, there are many benefits to them. There are many individuals who would love to get employment opportunities in this field. And, because the world is faster and faster becoming accessible to more people, increasing employment availability can be found for travel jobs as well. But, how does a person get in and how do they do their job?

Travel writer jobs belong mainly to freelance authors, travelling far and wide. They learn about the amusements, the attractions, and the little secrets of the towns, cities, and countries they visit. Then, they provide this knowledge to the general public in the form of articles, books, or even transcriptions. It is amazing that many people go from location to location by simply learning about different areas and using this knowledge to write. But, this work is far from easy. It may be costly to afford to do this type of traveling. It often does not pan out as a worthwhile adventure anyway. It is often difficult to find publishers or employment vacancies in this area as well.

To get these types of jobs, it will often take experience in the writing field and the researching field. Freelance opportunities, in which the author will visit locations at his own expense, are necessary. In other, simpler cases, a breakthrough into the business can be done by working for the local newspaper or through a magazine. In any case, though, it will require time to develop the necessary knowledge.

When looking for vacancies like these, it would be wise to realize that it will take time to build up the reputation needed to get these opportunities. Perhaps working on less glamorous writing jobs will have to be taken in order to have stepping stones out into the travel writing world. If you have the funds and the talent it is easy to go out and find locations to write about without being commissioned to do so. But, there is no guarantee of any of this type of work paying off. Patience may be the only way to get into and maintain a career in this field of writing.

Healing From Job Loss in a Recession

"It's a recession when your neighbor loses his job: It's a depression when you lose yours."-- Harry S. Truman.

How true. How do you heal of the humiliation and leprosy of losing cherished employment? It is so much easier to watch and analyze this when it pertains to others. Often we think we know how others feel but we do not. Instead, we perceive situations that do not directly affect us to be lighter and magnify the impact of our direct impressions. I believe God must give this direct experience to a few so that they can understand how it truly feels and minister genuine support. I have had the direct experience of job loss and all I can honestly say was that it was not what I would have expected or written about. Never say "I know how you feel" unless you have truly had the experience. This article is about healing. What does the Bible teach us on this?

In Luke 17[12] And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: [13] And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. [14] And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. [15] And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, [16] And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. [17] And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? [18] There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. [19] And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

My own personal experience and the conclusions I have arrived at borrow from the healing in this text in 5 fundamental ways. What should you do in times of sudden job loss.

1. No matter how afar off you may be spiritually, begin by crying out to Jesus and do not waste time grieving and lamenting to men. Humanity may mean well but they do not have the solutions.

2. Patiently bear the stigma, the stones and derogatory shouts of "unemployed" even as you keep holding on to the assurance that your wounds, isolation and hurts will soon heal. Get busy and active in whatever God has laid on your heart. Move forward with something.

3. Never let Jesus out of your heart. Keep Him in your mind. Let your gaze be on Him and let your memories of His promises sustain your progress.

4. As you are strengthened, get closer to Him in prayer, in meditation and in listening to His word.

5. Begin to thank Him and live a life of constant thanksgiving. Thank God for silly things like the earthquake that did not happen or the star that missed the earth in its destructive trajectory. Thank Him for waking you up in the morning and helping you sleep at night.

Soon, you will begin to wonder why you need be sorrowful. Begin to exude a new confidence and ponder over new ideas and previously unexplored territories. You are healed when you come to the conclusion that perhaps it was a good thing to be able to move on to something different and discover new and uncharted chapters unfolding before you.

The difficulty in a Recession is worsened by the absence of human sympathy, locked access to the avenues you would have wanted and glances that say "No vacancy". However, the error you make is that you are looking down instead of up to Him waiting to help you.

My personal experience is that life probably has an infinite combination of paths, possibilities and avenues and we probably (due to prejudices and biases) can only see and exploit perhaps less than a tenth of the openings waiting for attention. Looking to Christ takes your gaze off the blockers and soon you begin to discern many other things previously unseen. Now as you see with excitement other many alternatives to chose from and have the humility to seek continued guidance from God in travelling these new paths - you are now indeed made whole.

Arise and be healed, in Jesus name. Amen

35 Ways to Make Money Online

During my search on the internet in order to find and start my own home based business, I created literally 1000's of bookmarks in my browser. Today I was cleaning up my bookmarks and thought that it might be a good idea to share these bookmarks with others. Why re-invent the wheel if someone has already done the work?

Whilst reviewing all my 'Make Money Online' bookmarks, I trashed many and kept a shortlist of 35. Please note that I am not including any bookmarks related to Buy My CD, DVD or Audio book, Getting Paid to Surf, MLM, Paid Surveys, Contests, etc...

My personal top 35 does include any legitimate company or business opportunity that allows you to earn money on the internet. Below is an alphabetically sorted list:

1. Adbrite - Sell available space on your website for text advertisements.

2. Amazon Affiliate program - Create your own store, and referring traffic to that. Amazon takes care of the check out and payment procedure.

3. Amazon Seller - Selling things on Amazon.

4. Associated Content - Write stories on How To, Reviews etc... submit the article to them. If they like it, you can earn up to $20 per article.

5. BidVertiser - This is a Pay Per Click Program. The payout is low, $10.

6. Build A Niche Store - A very simple website/store platform. You create a content based website that will generate income through the Ebay affiliate programs.

7. Blogging - Create a blog and regularly post good quality, informative content. Allow space for some related advert placement and you may make some money.

8. CafePress - Produce a nice design, submit it and they will put it on a Hat or T-Shirt for you. Create your own online store and promote your designs.

9. Chitika - A bit like E-Mini-Malls, designed for bloggers and website owners. Pick a keyword and they will show related products on your website. I must say, they have a very original interface for this.

10. ClickBank - Literally 1000's of products and services for you to advertise on your own website.

11. ClicknWork - A Freelance website where you get paid per assignment that you are hired for. The pay-out ranges from $5 - 150$ per hour. You will have to pass a tough test in order to qualify.

12. ClickSor - Very nifty program. They place contextual advertisements on websites. When you hover with your mouse over a double-underlined word, the ad shows up.

13. Commission Junction - By joining them, you choose several companies whose ads are relevant to the content of your website. There are 1000's to choose from.

14. CreamAid - This program is for blogs only. The advertiser gives you a topic to write about on your blog. You can activate this by placing a flash widget into your blog post. The idea is to bring lots of people into the conversation. The more people that are joining, the more money you earn. Kinda hard to explain, but see for yourself.

15. Ether - They provide a way for people to pay you for talking about things, that you are an expert in, during one-on-one sessions. You need to have a blog set-up in order to do this.

16. eBay - Empty out your garage and start selling the stuff online. Easy and fun.

17. eBay Stores - Create your own store and start selling.

18. Elance - Freelance website for Programmers, Web designers and Developers, Authors, Editors etc... .

19. FeedBurner / Google - In my opinion the best place to house your feeds. They place adds to your feeds as well as your website. It is a Paid Per Impression program, except if you have implemented Google AdSense to your feeds, the payment is per click.

20. Google AdSense - Google places relevant ads to your website, based on the content.

21. Google AdWords - Choose keywords and Google places simple text ads to your website, relevant to the keywords.

22. H3 - Get paid to fulfill job vacancies. The commissions range between $50 - $5000, depending on how difficult it is to fill the job. I find this one a little difficult to explain in a few words, but check it out.

23. Indeed - It is a job board that you can add to your site. Based on the geographic location of your visitors and position types that you have pre-selected, they place job vacancies.

24. Innersell - Found a customer but you can not sell to them? Sell the lead to Innersell.

25. JellyFish - Kinda like a shopping website. You refer people to their site and if they make a purchase, you earn a certain percentage.

26. JigSaw - If you happen to own a proper database with some good contact, you can sell it here.

27. KarmaOne - A recruiting website. Similar to H3. You find a candidate to fulfill a job vacancy and you can earn between $50 - $12000, depending on the vacancy and how desperate they are for hiring.

28. LinkShare - You need a website for this, then join LinkShare. It is for free. Choose from a list of companies that are relevant to the content of your website. LinkShare will place the ads.

29. MicroSoft AdCenter - You simply start bidding on keywords and Microsoft will create the ads. It is very similar to Google AdWords and it is not required to have a website.

30. PageFlakes - They have developed a user-defined Ajax Homepage, in order to show Flickr photos, RSS Feeds and lots more. You get paid $1 for each referral that you bring in.

31. PayPerPost - Very similar to CreamAid - The advertiser will pay you for writing about their products on your blog or website.

32. Pheedo - Designed for RSS feeds. Process your feed through Pheedo and they will include relevant ads into your feeds.

33. SoftWareJudge - Get paid up to $50 for writing a review on software.

34. WestWorkAtHomeAgent - This program is not only online and has won various awards. Ideal for stay at home moms and freelancers

Sales Recruitment Jobsites

A few basic things are critical to the success of a sales recruitment jobsite, or any specialist jobsite for that matter. Why am I only discussing specialist jobsites and not generalist jobsites, I think that will become apparent as we continue our discussion using a sales recruitment jobsite as our specialist example.

The few critical factors that will make a specialist jobsite work for you the recruiter are very much common sense. Firstly the right potential candidates must be attracted to the site, secondly the jobseeker must be enticed by the site to search and apply for jobs and to register there details so that recruiters can contact them in the future. The third criteria relates to you the recruiter, the site must be easy to use and give you access to the right candidates in a timely and cost efficient manner.

All sounds fairly easy so far, so how do you go about assessing if you are about to spend money using the right jobsite? You could take a free trail and some sites do offer this, however many do not and how much time and energy do you have available to waste testing out inadequate sales jobsites?

Returning to our first factor, the right potential candidates being attracted to the jobsite, how does a jobsite go about attracting the right jobseekers to the website? The following is a list of the major routes to achieving this goal

* Search Engine Optimisation

* Email Marketing

* Pay Per Click Advertising

* Affiliate Programmes

* Online PR / Press Releases

* Blog marketing

* Directories

* Link Programmes

* Social Network Marketing

* Offline Marketing - Television and Print Media

All of a sudden it does not look so simple and if a good jobsite is using all of these marketing and promotion techniques to drive quality jobseekers to the site, how do you know if they are doing it and doing it effectively, with some specialist sites charging as much as £400 for a single advert, getting it wrong could be a serious mistake.

If we go back to our good old friend Google, it can give us some insight. For example I am a recruiter wanting to recruit sales personnel. I know that Monster Jobs is regularly advertising on TV and all over the web, it is quite expensive which makes you think well perhaps that is because they invest a lot of money driving jobseekers to their collection of global jobsites. A quick search of the URL for monster UK, as you are recruiting for a sales person in the UK gives over 85000 results that contain a mention of monster uk.co.uk. A more detailed search link:

URL is a bit less impressive at 5600. All these statistics may be very interesting to people working in SEO and online marketing, but to you as a recruiter are they going to get you the candidates that you need, simple answer is no. If we get a bit more specific about our recruitment needs as the majority of recruiters needs are very specific, we are looking for a sales manager for a UK bank. What would this person search for when looking for a jobsite, (this of course only gives you access to active candidates) perhaps they would search for "sales jobs" or "banking jobs" or even "sales manager jobs in banking" as people often search for exactly what they are looking for.

So where does Monster uk come under each of these searches, for "sales jobs" it does not appear on the front page, either in the natural ranking or in the pay per click sponsored advertising. Next I carry out the search for "banking jobs" and I get a result monster uk is 9th in the search results, not bad. So I click on the link as if I am the banking sales manager, ready to do my search for sales management roles in banking, I select London from the location search box and now I go to select the job category and the closest match to retail banking that I work in, is retail customer service and hit the search button. The results are for junior cashier roles and for general retail sales jobs not in banking, I as the jobseeker am so impressed that I close my browser and go back to work.

Finally we test monster against the search phrase "sales manager jobs in banking" and yet again monster is not on the front page. So Monster Jobs is not for us in this example, what you really need is a sales recruitment jobsite that is going to attract and retain the details of the candidates that you need. The question is does such a jobsite exist? We will explore this together further in the next article in the series.

Fantastic Chefs Jobs

Whether you have just qualified as a chef or you have been working as a chef for several years, you will probably find yourself in the position of having to find a new job at some point in your career. This article will offer you some suggestions on how to find a chef's position that is perfect for you. There are both online and real world strategies you can pursue to locate positions to apply for. The internet can be a great tool to help you with your search but there are also some real world strategies that you may not have thought of.

The first place to start looking for and researching what positions are available to you is on the internet. There are numerous websites that specialize in advertising chef's positions as well as sites that advertise all sorts of hospitality positions. Many websites will even allow you to upload your resume so that potential employers can view it online. Looking for a chef's position on the internet can open up the possibility of finding a job world wide - many chefs take full advantage of the travel opportunities and culinary skills they can learn by traveling overseas to work. (Just think of how many successful chefs you know of who have traveled and then come home with new and innovative ideas and experience?)

If you are looking for a position closer to home one important resource that many chefs forget about is the career office of their culinary school. Do not make the mistake of thinking that they are only interested in current students - many culinary schools will provide help to their past students. Remember if they can help you get a position in a 5 star hotel for example they will be able to advertise the fact that their past students work in such an establishment!

Investigate places at which you would like to work. Is there a restaurant or hotel that you would kill to work for? Search their website and see if they have any job vacancies advertised, or approach them in person to see if they have any vacancies. Remember the old saying "You will never know unless you ask."

Another option is to look for seasonal employment. Many resorts etc. are only open during the season and then close for the rest of the year. You may be able to work at two or three different resorts and stay employed year round. For example you could work at a ski resort in the winter and then a beachside resort or restaurant over the summer months.

One place many new chefs forget about when trying to find their first job is the place(s) you may have worked in for work placement in culinary school. Find out if there are any positions vacant. One advantage of applying here is that both you and the employer know what to expect, you know each other and know what you are getting into and what the demands and responsibilities of the position will be.

Get a Job in 24 Hours!

Is it possible? Is that your first question? I must tell you that it is not only possible but you can get that job within a lesser time than the above topic!

Getting a job in 24 hours largely depends on the type of job you are searching for. You may need to ask yourself if you are prepared to take up a different employment than the one you are originally looking for. If for instance you are searching for a job as an accountant but instead was offered a job as a clerk, would you accept the job and rise through the ranks or take it up for the time being?

Secondly, you may need to ask yourself if you are "over qualified" for the job you are seeking. You may need to exclude your Masters degree or your college diploma from your CV to get the job you are seeking or at least to get an invitation for interview. After you're employed, your productivity will be very naked and obvious to your employer and by then, you may approach him with your higher qualifications for a pay/position rise.

Another important decision you have to take to secure a job in record time is to decide to relocate abroad. Yes, abroad and for good! Thousands of jobs needing expatriate knowledge abound abroad with no local expertise to fill these vacant positions. The pay is equivalent or even more than what you are paid in your own country. The jobs could be "dirty" and something the locals wouldn't want to do but as a foreigner, you can take up these jobs and make yourself incomes that would last you for seven lifetimes. A good source to start now is http://www.jobnownow.com This site lists available jobs worldwide on a daily basis.

Now, the easiest but most overlooked way of getting a job in record time is starting an online business. Many people are either too scared of joining internet businesses or have low self-esteem leading them to believe erroneously that internet business won't work for them. The truth's that internet business has made millionaires and is still making millionaires out of lay people. I'm a living testimony. The good thing about the internet is that the blueprint that works for a business always works for another all things being equal. And what do you need to start off? The internet is very verse and depending on the area of internet business you want to start, you may need a website. Series of tested articles to help you start off immediately are located on Jobnownow.com and you only have yourself preventing yourself from getting a job now!

Searching For a Job Using Online Resources

The days of standing reading job notices pinned to a board at a local job centre are well behind us. The internet has revolutionised many aspects of our lives and now the power of a worldwide network is being used to help many people search for their ideal job. This article will look at how job hunters can use online services to help find employment, and look at some tips to keep in mind.

Hunting for a job can be tough task for anyone, this coupled with recent economic turmoil means that the competition for any advertised positions can be extremely fierce. For anyone looking for a job this can be frustrating and demoralising, but don't worry, with some simple techniques the modern computer literate prospective employee can give themselves a boost.

First of all - Use the online recruitment sites. These can be a superb gateway to a huge array of jobs. Furthermore they can be easy to navigate if you get used to searching by using key words that describe the industry you are looking to enter. Many sites cater for a wide industry such as finding dietetic jobs or a job as a locum physiotherapist on one healthcare jobs site. These sites sometimes have the option to upload a CV (or resume) to allow prospective employers to see it, it seems like a slightly passive way to hunt for jobs, but for people with limited time it's obviously a good tool.

For others looking for a more intensive job search then checking these sites on a daily basis will give the best chance of seeing an ideal job, furthermore it will give the scope to make minor tweaks and changes to your CV / resume based on the job being applied for - fine tuning and modifying the CV / resume before it is sent allows the job hunter to stand out from the crowd by drawing attention to the sections of their details that they want to promote the most.

Email can also be used to find a job - simply using search engines to find employers that are in a specific area can yield a huge number of prospective leads. For each company that is approached it is important to draft a unique covering letter, it should briefly detail who is applying for the position, what that position is and why they believe they are suited for that role. It is important that the covering letter is not overly long, people looking to fill a new vacancy will be looking through a great number of these applications - large blocks of text can too easily be skimmed.

Sam Qam is aware of several good sites for acquiring locum physiotherapist and dietetic jobs.

How to Find AV Jobs

If you are in search of AV jobs then you have come to the right place. This article has been compiled to inform you on how to get your foot on the ladder in the live events industry. There can be many reasons for wanting a job that involves audio visual work, not only is it thought of as being very rewarding in times of salary it is often an industry that can provide immense satisfaction and incredibly opportunities.

To start with you will need to understand how to identify the current openings in the field. As with any type of job the best resource is now definitely the net. The problem is that if you type in AV Jobs into a search engine you are likely to be given literally millions of results. It can be more useful to search for agencies that specialize in advertising vacancies in the live events industry. You should then be able to use your time more efficiently and find more suitable openings.

AV jobs are not for the shy and reserved. If all the positions you have checked out ask for experience then this is what you will need to get. Think about any venues in your town or city in which you can offer to work as a volunteer. For example there may be concert halls, theatres, live music clubs, or performing arts centres that all require assistance from time to time in hosting events.

The actual type of work can be as varied as the performers on the stage. How technical the profile depends upon the nature of the venue and the experience of the staff already employed. Work From Home Jobs - Where to Find Them

Are you tired of searching the internet to find a job that would satisfy your need for a flexible schedule while doing it in the convenience of your home? Finding a work from home opportunity is not easy to find if you compare it with finding a traditional job. However, there are ways to find them.

Work from Home Job Search

First and foremost, dedicate your time to search the Internet. Just like searching for a traditional job, you need to be attuned with the places which will give you the best chances to find a job vacancy. Start with your friends in the social media sites that you have joined. Check among them if they have ventured in some work from home opportunities and inquire from them how they started, if they know of any sites that you can browse, and any other tips they can give. Networking is a very good way to find a job because you are talking to real people that you know who have experiences in the Internet world. Contact everyone you know and ask them if they can give job leads and other links that you can use to get the information you need.

Another way to connect is through forums. Join forums that interest you. There are many work from home forums that can help in finding a job because some employers post their vacancies in these types of sites. They know that the job seekers can be found in these communities. Other telecommuters also join these forums and share their experiences and the companies they have worked for. It is also a good way to clarify on scam sites and be informed of fraudulent companies and employers.

Work from Home Job Sites

Now, this is an easy thing to do. Search for job sites via search engines, and within seconds you will have plenty of choices to choose from. Simply browse and check if you can find jobs that will suit your qualifications and experiences. Some of the keywords that you can use are the following: "telecommuting," "legitimate home-based jobs," and "freelance." "Work at home" and "data entry jobs" are very good keywords. However, they will take you to websites that will charge for providing "real" work from home jobs that look like "proven successful" home-based jobs information. Be careful of these types of sites.

Make sure that you have prepared a well-written resume because job sites require you to post your resume and cover letter. You have to invest time in filling-in the forms because they require job seekers to post complete information about their personal and professional details. Once you can comply with the requirements, then you are ready to search for jobs listed and contact the employers.

Social media sites, forums and job sites are the most effective places to find a legitimate work from home opportunity. Don't believe in the advertisements of websites that promise "too good to be true" income opportunities, and be suspicious of those who ask for payment for any job. A real work from home opportunity needs qualified and skilled workers, and it should not require the job applicants to pay for anything. There are many work from home opportunities, but there are also many scammers throughout the Internet that you should be careful of.

Some Tips on How to Get Your Job Hunting Campaign Off the Ground

Job hunting can be a long, arduous process and very frustrating. There are always jobs available but, unless you are desperate for an income, you will want to find the perfect job where you can use your skills and experience.

This article gives some advice on how to go about finding the ideal job.

1.Recruitment Agencies - Recruitment agencies can be a great help when searching for jobs because they are experts at matching people to vacant positions. Recruitment agencies will send your CV out to relevant employers, arrange interviews for you and keep you up to date on progress. Some recruitment agencies offer services like CV polishing or writing and help with interview techniques. Take advantage of these services if your recruitment agency offers them.

2.Networking - If you have friends or family who work for a company you would like to work for, ask them if there are any openings. You may be able to find out about jobs before they are advertised and friends and family may even put in a good word for you. You will also get inside knowledge about the company, the boss, conditions, salary and how interviews are held.

3.Classified section of newspapers and magazines - Local and national newspapers advertise job vacancies as do specialist magazines for particular professions. Send your CV off to relevant companies or contact them for an application form. Always follow up applications by phoning the company to check that they have received your application.
Newspapers will also have adverts for local recruitment agencies.

4.Company Websites - Although some companies will use recruitment agencies for their staffing requirements, most will have a company website listing current vacancies. Make sure that you check websites regularly for updates and that you follow the set procedure for applying for a job.

How To Conduct A Successful Job Search

Introduction

Starting a job search can often be a daunting experience, after all where do you start and which sources of information should you use? This article aims to examine in detail the elements of a successful job search, drawing upon my experience as a recruiter over a number of years.

Step 1. Objective Setting

It is impossible to decide whether something has been successful unless you define some basic objective in the first instance. Think about some of the following:

a) Are you looking for an identical job in a different company?

b) Are you looking for a career change into a specific industry?

c) Or are you still undecided about what job you want, but intend to cast the net as wide as possible and see what happens?

Once you have clarified your job search goals this will influence what you expect to gain at the end of the process.

Step 2. Update your Resume

Some people get steps 1 and 2 in the wrong order in their haste to find employment. They update their resume and then start thinking about what job they would like to search for. Remember your resume provides a snapshot of your skills and abilities but you should always tailor it to the type of job you are applying for. Don't just submit the same resume for multiple jobs. Take time to emphasise particular skills in your resume that may appeal more to some employers than others.

3. Dress to impress

Go out and buy a good interview suit, even if you don't normally wear one. Looking smart and presentable to any prospective employer is essential as it communicates respect and attention to detail. Getting your interview attire ready before you commence your actual job search will ensure that you are ready to respond immediately if an employer asks you to attend an interview at short notice. The last thing you want to be doing is trying to buy smart clothing on the day of an interview.

Tip: Go for dark colors, like blue, navy or black for interview clothing and always stick to a plain white shirt or blouse. These colors are quite neutral and smart and are unlikely to be off putting to a prospective employer.

4. Newspaper Media

The traditional way to search for a new job is by combing through newspapers or specialist magazines to find suitable vacancies. These media types can be very useful. Newspaper advertising provides a good overview of local vacancies whilst specialist magazines offer opportunities within a particular industry like social working, engineering , aerospace etc.

These should definitely be an essential element of a successful job search but their major drawback is that you often have to shift through lots of irrelevant vacancies until you find something suitable.

5. Internet Job Search

The internet is by far the most effective media for searching for job opportunities, as most company websites or specialist job search sites are regularly updated, offer instant access to potential employers and are highly interactive.

Specialist online job search sites like http://www.monster.com, one of the market leaders are even better.

Features include the ability to upload your resume directly onto the site so that thousands of potential employers can view it directly and email alerts which trigger an email to be sent directly to your email inbox if suitable jobs that match your criteria are posted on the site. Online job search sites like these offer flexibility, speed and the ability to narrow down your search options if there is just too much information to go through.

These sites are an essential element to your job search and I would highly recommend monster.com who host some of the largest online selection of jobs covering virtually every industry and specialism.

These sites are free for job hunters to use, as monster charge the companies fees for advertising on the site.

6. Register with an employment agency

Employment agencies don't always have the best reputations but there are some really excellent agencies out there and they can add some real value to your job search. Having worked for a recruitment agency for a number of years here are some of the benefits they can bring to your job search:

a) Objective Critique of your resume

Whilst we all like to believe that we have written an excellent resume, a good employment agency will sit down with you and go through it in detail, suggesting improvements along the way.

b) Agencies know companies better than you

Employment agencies really do know what their client companies want and can provide you with invaluable information or interview coaching regarding what skills you should be emphasising.

c) Agencies have good links to companies

It's sad to say but sometimes if you apply directly to a company your resume can go to the bottom of the queue, but agencies can speed the feedback process up by acting as a representative on your behalf.

Most employment agencies are commission based and it's in their interest to get the fastest feedback possible after your resume has been submitted to a company. As a result they are likely to have developed good channels of communication with hiring managers and will be actively promoting your skills to key decision makers in the company.

Tip: Ask around for a recommendation of a good agency, that way you'll quickly discover who which can add value to your job search.

Networking is one of the oldest and most effective forms of job hunting available and yet it is also one of the least utilised. So before you scour the internet for a new job or flick through magazine advertisements here are a few thoughts about the power of networking in the job search process.

7. Personal Recommendation

This is a powerful weapon in your job hunting armoury because friends, family or colleagues are more often the best sources of information for finding job vacancies. How many of your colleagues have been for job interviews recently? It's worth asking around because if they have similar skills to you then it's likely that the jobs they have applied for will also be of direct relevance to you. Why wade through hundreds of jobs elsewhere if you can apply for one or two that have been personal recommended to you and that are a good match already. In addition if you apply to a company where you already know someone who works there, they can put in a good word for you.

A colleague of mine once recruited five skilled IT consultants without once having to advertise. The first person he called told a friend and so on until all five had applied for five available jobs and where successful. This can be much better for you as you are likely to end up working alongside people you know and are comfortable with, leading to increased levels of job satisfaction. So ask around before you spend time actively job hunting, because personal recommendation is a power networking tool in job search.

Bypass official Channels

Networking allows you to get a head start in the job search process. Once a job is advertised the chances of you being a successful applicant reduce, but if you are recommended by a friend or already have a social/professional relationship with the hiring manager you can get a head start. Whilst company's don't admit it they will speed up the interview process of a particular candidate if they come through from a recommendation. Better still the company may not have to advertise the job if another colleague mentions your credentials before a vacancy is officially made public, saving them time and money.

Improved knowledge of the job requirements

If you are applying for a job at a company where you already have friends, family or clients then this will improve your understanding of what the job requires and boost your chances at interview. Demonstrating to a prospective employer that you have intimate knowledge of their business or industry is a powerful tool and you will stand out more distinctively than another candidate who has a lesser understanding.

Inside information on the assessment process.

The key to making it through the assessment process is understanding what is required of you. Increasingly companies are turning to assessment centres which are set up to test various technical, interpersonal and knowledge based skills. Networking is an ideal means of obtaining information about what you can expect to face, whilst you won't be able to find out the specifics of the tests involved, asking others who have completed these assessments can help you understand what you will be tested on. This can be really helpful as it gives you the opportunity to prepare yourself properly for the assessment to give you a solid start.
